Ásgeir er sonur hjónana Ingimundar Jakobssonar og Sigríðar Sigfúsdóttur og á hann bróður er Pétur heitir.Þetta er það sem finnst í manntali Þjóðskjalasafni.Og í Íslendingabók kemur þetta: Ásgeir Ingimundarson 6. september 1881 - 4. janúar 1948. Nam í Ólafsdalsskóla. Húsmaður á Akureyri, Eyj. 1901. Veggfóðrari í Reykjavík og síðar verslunarmaður í Kanada. Síðast bús. í Reykjavík. Fór til Vesturheims 1910. Var í Wynyard, Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Kanada 1921. Börn fædd í Kanada: Hilmar, f. 1.6.1911, d. 18.12.1969, Aldmar Jón, f. 8.6.1914, 20.1.1988, Valur, Reynir, Hjörvar, f. 27.5.1921, d. 28.5.1921, Ómar, f. 6.2.1923.
